Partnership with KIYO

Together with children's rights organisation KIYO, Djapo submitted a five-year joint programme to Directorate General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid (DGD). What binds us together? Our will to build a sustainable, social and just society and a great openness to learn from each other.

Increasing impact together

Djapo and KIYO believe that we can only achieve the Sustainable Development Goals if we work together. In that collaboration, we focus on youth empowerment: we connect global challenges with children's personal environments and aim to inspire them to become actors of positive change themselves.

"Intensive and long-term cooperation with other NGOs can act as a mirror. It helps to formulate your vision even more sharply and to learn from each other."

Concrete plans

Since 2022, we have been working in the following areas of action:

  • a renewed MEAL-policy and -approach.
  • a joint commitment for pressing themes within international solidarity such as the role of Global Citizenship Education and equal partnership. Together we provide input for the renewal of the NGO sector and policy around international solidarity.
  • Exchange practical expertise about methods and tools for empowerment and ESD with PETA, one of KIYO's partners in the Philippines. KIYO facilitates the learning process around this exchange within its wider network of expert partners.

Wondering how it will continue?

In the coming years, we will continue finding ways to efficiently and effectively realise our mission in a context of major social, environmental and economic challenges, so keep a close eye on this collaboration.
